Purple Sweater Eater
So I was as the Scrap Exchange’s Swap-o-Rama. People brought in their old used clothes and got to swap for new ones. Some folks from the Durham String Thing were there to demonstrate how to make clothing into other things. My friend Sara cuts up old t-shirts and makes them into dish rags. I was doing my re-yarn stuff. I found this GREAT purple sweater to destroy. It has great texture and there is a TON of it. It was truly a giant sweater. It has mohair in it. Mohair sweaters are quickly becoming some of my favorites to destory because the texture is so great. This is some yarn I spun at the SE during the Swap-o-Rama. It sold the first day I put it on Etsy. Whoop whoop
Cashmere Rainbow
This is a slightly cheesy named yarn, to add to the cheese say it as if Doug Henning was saying it. “CAsssshhhmmmere RAAAIINbow” That makes both cheesy and ironic. This is some really nice stuff. It was spun using a 100% Calvin Klein cashmere sweater. I spun the rest of it using llama, bamboo, marino and corriedale . The colors are lovely. Andy actually picked them out. Sometimes we collaborate for fun. 
CamoGrrrrlll
This is spun from a silk sweater that I destroyed. I really love green and orange together, but when you dye them next to each other you get a brown gunky mess. This is a great solution. I also had just bought a some green-toned roving from a woman on ebay. The colors blended perfectly. It’s hard to tell when the wool ends and the silk starts. Also- this is my first foray into silk knitted sweaters. I wasn’t sure how it was going to spin because the fabric tends to be pretty dense. I had to cut it into super thin strips. I really liked the ragged texture of the yarn.
Three Girly Friends!
This might be the most girly yarn I have ever spun! It is a mix of three (!) sweaters. A mohair sweater with sprinkles and buttons (all in the yarn), a cashmere sweater- which I had to admit- I didn’t want to rip out and this really lovely wrap. I cut them all up and spun them with a bit of CJ Kopec’s roving, some superwash marino, fake fur (subtle but in there), and a good bit of soy silk. Oh yeah, and some sparkles. I do love me some sparkly stuff- I can’t help it. I am my mother’s daughter. This is some really beautiful and girly yarn!

Little Blue Box
This little ditty was spun using some Cashmere I bought fairly early on in this process. I don’t have a photo of the sweater (sadly). It is a 100% baby blue cashmere sweater. I mixed it with some superwash marino and some roving I have from CJ Kopec (thats the pink stuff). I also added a little flax and some chopped up curtain remnants (I really love those). I am happy with the way it came out. I really love the blue/pink/brown combo. I spun this slightly differently than the others. I pulled the roving all the way through the sweater bits to give it a little more uniformity. 
Blueberry Bunny
This is the latest stuff I spun yesterday! I found this pretty ugly sweater at a thrift store. It is Angora and very bright blue. I chopped it up into one pretty long strip, and then plied it with some moreno/corriedale mix. I also spun a bright green thread around the whole thing for added texture. Its crazy heavy yarn and super angory-ish. I think the colors go well together! It is kinda crazy though! I have MUCH more of this stuff so I am going to do other things with it to tone it down a bit.
The Bunny FuFu1
This is some stuff I spun up a while ago. Its a bit of a precursor to Re-Yarn. It is made from a recycled white angora sweater. For FuFu1, I chopped up the sweater into tiny tiny bits and then ran it through my drum carder with a bunch of other fiber. I like the way at came out, although its a little sheddy. I plied it with a silver thread. I used a ton of different wool fibers, some Finn, long-haired cotswold and Moreno.

This was my second attempt at spinning the white angora sweater. This was my first real success in terms of what I am going for with Re-Yarn. I like the way the angora is there- but it is seamlessly integrated into the yarn. I kept the color scheme the same as FuFu1 and used the same wool for its base. 
NOT What Ann Intended
Hello! This is my first post on my new blog! This lovely handspun yarn was made from a repurposed Ann Taylor Sweater. The sweater is 100% cashmere. I mixed it with some Border Leichester fleece (from a sheep named Deborah).
The yarn is super chunky. The is a lot of cashmere in it. I also spun a thread around the outside to give it a areas between the blue and black a little.
